Columbia’s Downtown welcomes mural ideas

A prominent downtown Lexington restaurant for the past 65 years, Columbia’s Steakhouse Downtown is looking for ideas for a mural on the side of the building.

General manager Flo Cowley posted on Facebook, “We welcome your ideas. Do you have an idea for a mural painted on side of Columbia’s Downtown?”

The most popular suggestion so far has been Sweet Evening Breeze. Other well liked comments suggested a copy of a Henry Faulkner painting, or an image of Flo and Columbia’s beloved maitre d’ for 34 years, Smitty.

Columbia’s Downtown is located at 201 North Limestone.
