On May 24, Cosmic Charlie’s took to their social media to announce they plan to close their doors permanently after 10 years. The post reads, “Cosmic Charlie’s, 10, is passing away surrounded by a few friends and family on Sunday, May 31, 2020.”

Cosmic Charlie’s was most remembered for its location on Woodland Ave, next to Great Bagel, where it hosted artists such as Sturgill Simpson and Mac Miller before they became household names. In 2016 they moved to a bigger location on National Ave next to Mirror Twin Brewing. The music hall only occupied that location for two years before moving to its third home on Loudon Avenue in 2018.

Cosmic Charlie’s plans to host a live stream of the “funeral,” but asks that people do not show up due to COVID-19 and the guidelines set out by the Commonwealth and CDC.
